We survived Halloween, readers! And now it’s on to November, the month of turkeys and Grinch-y type people complaining that the Christmas decorations are up way too soon in the stores.
What happened to Thanksgiving, people! Gah! Bah humbug.Â
That’s what I would say if I were one of those people. I’m not. If I were, I wouldn’t still have a friend who starts counting down to Christmas at 200 days. Plus, this time of year is the Season of Giving. So all of you should be giving your votes to our extremely deserving book ideas like the Top 40 listed below! We have such a wonderful compilation this month of the Top 40 Book Ideas of October that we simply had to share. Nevermind that this is in fact a monthly occurrence. I’m serious people. We have a great list today.Â
We also have a great forum topic if anyone is interested. It’s all about the situations that produce drama and are thusly twisted into fodder for the writer’s whims. What family drama influenced your stories?
Now moving on to the fun stuff, the Top 40 for October 2016 are…
Shout Outs!
Soon To Be Published!: The Lottery Curse by Carey Azzara has wrested the #1 Spot from The Rod of Iron by Wade Fransson last month and it was announced that The Lottery Curse will be published before Christmas!Â
The Early Riser: If My Heart Could Talk by Alton Chaney Jr debuted on the Top 40 at #5 with 32 votes. Keep climbing!
Determined Climber: Off the Never Never Land by Kinsley Portner has been a regular on the Hot and Top lists for months, but last month saw it’s fall to #19. This month, though, Portner’s book made the jump back to the top at #10. Great show!Â
How do I get onto Top 40?
As stated previously, the Top 40 is the monthly culmination of our Hot 20 lists. Book Idea placement is determined by a formula that takes into account how many votes a Book Idea has gotten in the last month, how quickly they got those votes, and a few other things. We have a few ways to help you make it onto these lists.

They 85% required passing grades on the homework makes sure that the author gets a more complete picture of their progress. When armed with more information, the author can then readjust and with more precision.
