#SOOP on Monday: Top 20 Short Stories & Book Ideas for August 14, 2023

Let’s start a new Monday by showcasing the most popular stories at SOOP!

We’re thrilled to introduce you to the most exceptional story concepts of the week with a ranking consisting of active participants of our Annual Short Story Contest. These writers have ignited their imaginations and are taking advantage of our tools to get their stories out to the world!

One crucial part of succeeding in our publishing model is getting 50 votes through our crowdsourcing model to enter the qualification and reviewing stage. Some writers tend to misinterpret this requirement; your story is evaluated based on a quality score from our judges, and the voting process is to help you create a fan club and gather all your close supporters by the time your story goes to publication, as proof that your writing can grow an audience.

While it has many advantages, the voting qualification process can be demanding. For those who prefer a route without the voting aspect, we extend an invitation to explore our contest fee option. This pathway allows you to streamline the qualification process to present your work to our judges and editors. Remember that the qualification deadline has been extended until September 15th to give you ample time to qualify.

At Something Or Other Publishing, our belief is cultivating a nurturing community where writers can flourish. Whether you’ve successfully navigated the voting process or opted for the contest fee avenue, your journey is a tribute to your unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for storytelling.

Let’s come together to honor the dedication and originality of these writers, and please give a final push to the deserving stories that still need a few votes to reach the goal!

Work with SOOP

Everyone at SOOP will help you work towards success.

When you submit your Book Idea, you can choose one of two ways to reach your publishing goal: Free or Premium Levels. At each stage of the voting process, SOOP’s Free Level assigns homework, which helps you not only make substantial progress in marketing your work, but also helps you develop the best story possible. SOOP manages your homework in phases and returns your homework on a pass/fail basis.

SOOP’s Premium Level also assigns homework with a required 85% passing grade, ensuring you understand the curriculum before proceeding. In addition to a higher standard for your homework, our panel of experts provides personalized feedback, arming you with more information and allowing you to adjust the course when necessary.
