Who took a look at our new Hot 20? If you didn’t, you certainly should, and if you have, tell us what you think! I think it’s a great way to look at how everyone really stacks up against each other, especially as many of the Book Idea that were previously featured on the list hadn’t had a whole lot of action in the past several months. It also gives everyone a chance to see some of the Book Ideas that they might not have otherwise, and exposure is good for everyone, especially readers!
And so much has been changing here at SOOP in the last month that you owe it to yourself to take a look around the blog and the site and keep yourself up to date. We really want to make sure that the experience you get here is the best it could be. With so many changes happening, like adjustments to the Free and Premium paths and the brand new Hot 20 List, things can get confusing. So stick around! Look around! Get reacquainted with the growing SOOP!
But today is mostly about new Book Ideas, those budding little baby Ideas just joining the SOOP community. So take a moment and Vote for your favorite here.
In the order they appeared as of September 7, the newest Book Ideas are…

SOOP Dollars
As we do at the beginning of each month, SOOP Dollars have been awarded to the Top 5 vote earners from the previous month. As usual, the dollars can be redeemed for various services within Something Or Other Publishing within the next year. But there may be some confusion this month, understandably. We have changed how we do the Top 20 to a weekly Hot 20 and a monthly Top 40. What will happen this month is what previously happened. The Top 5 from the August 27 Top 20 Blog will be awarded SOOP Dollars. Check in next month to catch the new order of things. Congratulations to all earners, especially Anne Marie Waters, with her first appearance on this list!
- 50 SOOP Dollars go to Wade Fransson for The Rod of Iron
- 40 SOOP Dollars go to Carey Azzara for The Lottery Curse
- 30 SOOP Dollars go to Jennifer Irwin for A Dress the Color of The Sky
- 20 SOOP Dollars go to Steve Wollett for Blasphemous Cocktails
- 10 SOOP Dollars go to Anne Marie Waters for Beyond Terror
