Once upon a time the world twists, and a carriage driver comes to life. Memories of his past life are vague and fading fast. He knows only that he has to get a carriage to a party. At the party he and the footmen mingle with the other servants. The driver questions the nature of his new life. He has become a thinking being — but is he a footnote in someone else’s story? Or can he seize this new life of his?
