A true story based on a story told by the writer’s father. Dave, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, becomes an apprentice door-to-door salesman for Orkin Pest Control. On his very first day, Dave knocks on the door of a retired schoolteacher who answers the door with a gun, leading to the strangest experience of his life and also the biggest sale of his life.
