This story takes place around and in a mysterious and haunted home. There are two old women who recently purchased the cursed property. They spend a couple years fixing it up and then invite twelve strangers to join them. Each letter they send out conveys a different message to each reader. There are a few main characters as it switches through points of view. Two of the invited guests are serial killers. A twist: they all have some sort of supernatural ability. The house is also one of the characters as it is a huge driving force in what is happening within the story. Along with those in the house, we are given an outside story of Joe the taxi driver, his friend Bobby, and an eccentric billionaire named John. All of whom have connections to the house. We get people in the house trying to solve the same mystery as those outside of it. With ghosts and mysterious shadows on the wall they must try and escape the house. In the end very few survive, but the curse continues as is noted in the epilogue that will follow.
