In addition to her literary accomplishments, Eileen Maddocks has a diverse spiritual background, from her grandfather’s Adventism, a childhood in mainstream Protestantism, and early adulthood in the New Age movement. After seeking spiritual truth in various places, she discovered and embraced the Bahá’í Faith in midlife. Eileen served at the Bahá’í World Centre in Haifa, Israel, for 16 years in positions that involved extensive research and writing. After retirement, she returned to her New England roots and is now a researcher and writer in pastoral Vermont.
Eileen’s literary journey began in 2018 with her self-published book, “1844: Convergence in Prophecy for Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and the Bahá’í Faith.” This work explores the expectations surrounding the return of Jesus Christ in Christianity and the return of the Twelfth Imam in Shi’ah Islam and how they were fulfilled by the Twin Prophets of the Bahá’í Faith, the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh.
Her passion project has been her trilogy, “The Coming of the Glory: How the Hebrew Scriptures Reveal the Plan of God,” which Volume III has completed. This series presents a Bahá’í perspective on the Hebrew Bible, focusing on its prophecies, allegories, and symbolism. By examining the missions of the Hebrew prophets within Israelite history, Eileen offers readers a chronological and systematic understanding of their messages and their relevance to contemporary times.
