#Marketing Mondays: Blogging

Blogging

Blogging is one of the things that authors should do on a regular basis to connect with their fans and others through their writing. I spoke about having a blog in one of my previous posts and wanted to go a little more in-depth with how to blog and how to be successful. I like to think of blogging as an online journal that everyone can read. It makes me feel like I have accomplished something, and kept to my writing rule of write at least once a day no matter what it is.

The first thing that you should do is create a blog that will get you to come back to it and write every day. Writing every day will keep you in the mindset of the writer that you are. Blogging can help you to become the writer that you want to be. It can be a task at times especially when you can’t think of anything to write about, but you should always write about something that you care about.

The first thing that you need to do is choose a website such as WordPress or Wix.com to help you set up your blog. Then you can select the design of your blog and how it looks to your audience. Choose something simple if you are new to this and start from there. Then you will need to pick something that is interesting to you, and something that you are passionate about. This will give your audience a way to connect with you as the writer.

Make sure that you post every day or at the very least once a week. This will keep your followers interested and possibly bring others to read your blog. You should connect with Google+ and Goodreads to help expand your connection with the writing world. Have you blog post on Facebook and Twitter if you have an account already. This will give your friends and followers an idea of what you are trying to do.

Don’t post things that are inconsiderate of others and could harm your writing career. You never know who might read your blog along the way. Just have fun with writing about things that matter to you and what you can use to help bring your writing career to life. You could even post about your progress as a writer and where you are in the writing process. This will give your followers something to look forward to. Here’s to writing every day and creating a blog that will help you succeed in the writing world.
