‘The Travels of Bic’ By Aimee Pieper

“The Travels of Bic” is a short story about the trials a young faery must face while living in a creek polluted by man-made objects. Being both curious and stubborn, Bic the faery is torn between staying in the creek where his former colony was before they abandoned it, or actively seeking out other faeries and returning to a normal faery life. As any protagonist does with any quest, Bic gets sidetracked, and ends up almost returning to nature in an undesirable way, when some forest friends he didn’t know he possessed help him return to nature the proper way, and see that he should not be living his life among man’s wreckage.
