The first time I stumbled upon those words,was in Hong Kong in 1997.
I was on a business trip and I found that quote by Lao Tzu handwritten on the premium letterheard paper provided by the hotel in each room. I know today that I did not fully grasp the meaning of those words, yet I felt like they were penetrating my whole body. About 10 years later in a restaurant in California, while enjoying a business dinner, one of my colleagues started talking about awareness, and those words, although not as a quote, came back into the conversation. I remember feeling overwhelmed while not really understanding why and blaming the wine !
It’s only in 2018 that I realized the full meaning of those words in my life when they suddenly appeared again on the page of a book I was flipping through while at WHSmith and waiting for boarding.
