‘Playtime’ by Alice Alifair

In a desolate forest near the ruins of the City of Chicago there is a doll that single handedly brought down all of civilisation. This doll’s one mission is to make sure not to stop until every human-being is dead. Unfortunately, two travellers, trying to make it to the last city left come across this doll. The little girl of the group thinks the doll was a toy and with her fathers back turned she runs off to play. She sees this as playtime and the doll sees this as an opportunity.
