You think you took my house?” I asked the mortgage attorney, tears running down my cheeks. She looked at me – puzzled – with a mocking smile, and sneered, “Were you not there? We just bought your house at auction. It’s not yours anymore.” I quietly, yet sternly, looked into her eyes and replied “No you did not, because I have not allowed you to!”
I woke up to multiple rings of my doorbell, followed by harsh banging at the door. Who could it be this early in the morning in my peaceful, affluent neighborhood? I quickly put on my robe and went downstairs so the children would not wake up. I saw two sheriffs at the door. I opened the door and quietly asked “How may I help you?” They handed me some papers. Through disbelief, I read the words “notice of default.” Our house was going to be foreclosed soon…
About the Author
Armin Parhami is a single mother of four who believes in and creates miracles! Despite many obstacles in her life, she has managed to raise four amazing and successful children all on her own! She came to the United States (to the frigid state of North Dakota) as a child from Iran to escape religious persecution. She received her BA from the University of Minnesota and currently lives in Northern Virginia with her 16-year-old daughter.
At the start of the pandemic, she, with the help of her children, created a very successful weekly, interactive, and global online talk series with very effective and highly qualified speakers to address the critical current needs of humanity, and the solutions for those needs! The series is still ongoing and attracts people from all over the world who want to join in these important discourses.
Armin wants to give hope to all those single moms that are pulling a double shift 24/7 and raising their children alone. Ladies who feel inadequate, and think that one needs a “perfect” family to raise wonderful and successful children. She also loves to create miracles in the kitchen for her loved ones!
