I’m excited to be included in Women Write Now Volume I, an anthology of personal stories of trauma and recovery from women around the world. Anthologies from Something Or Other Publishing have been increasingly successful, garnering excellent reviews and critical acclaim. You can learn a little bit more about my specific short story below:

Growing up, I experienced domestic abuse and substance abuse up close with someone I loved deeply, and that has changed who I am and always will be. This story gives a raw look at what these situations are really like, in the hope to eliminate shame and taboo surrounding the telling of such stories of trauma and recovery.

About the Author

Laura was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has been writing as a form of escapism since a very young age. This is her first publication, and she is very excited to finally have the opportunity to see her writing in print. Through her writing, Laura aims to eliminate the taboo around such topics as domestic abuse, substance abuse, and childhood trauma.
