This short story is influenced by the Halsey song Without Me. It story focuses on a gay teenage girl who has grown up caring for her mum, who suffers from depression and drug addiction. Eventually the mother gets better however the daughter becomes sick and is rushed into hospital. She there recovers and starts to live like a normal teenager again, attending school. There she realises she is gay. She brings her new girlfriend back to her mums house to come out to her. Her mother doesn’t accept it so the daughter leaves. At this point she has completely lost hope and ends up taking her own life.
