‘White Veils of Shame’ By Pasithea chan

Legalizing rape, arranged marriages, crimes of honor, domestic violence, and separation of mothers from children; are issues that constitute Lebanese women’s reality. Amal, a young girl who had dreams finds herself another statistic on the list of women who must be veiled. A law is later passed to honor Amal but it doesn’t stop more Amal’s from being another victim. Sonetimes one must die in the eyes of their kids to have a life after trauma.
