‘Transparent Poppies’ By Oldmanwrite

The USA and United Nations attempted to eradicate poppy by buying tractors for Afghans and having the local district governors plow the fields under. My story is a fictitious recounting of how this program worked in one district., coupled with the perspectives of two Americans–an Army Officer and DOS civilian, and one Afghan District Governor. Based on true events. Wait for the story’s ironic twist.
