‘The Waking Boy’ By Jordan Troche

A boy wakes in a padded room with no memory of how he got there save for a voice on an intercom welcoming him and claiming to be his father. The voice asks him to remember the events leading him here. What happened after the flash of light and mushroom cloud on the horizon appeared? Is the man actually his father and if not what happened to Timothy? Why is it so hard to remember?
