The passage of a girl explores the gendered misfortunes that women and girls may have to bear. The historical short story focuses on the transparent social issues embedded in an African country. The story is at the same time integrated with the historical menace of slavery, which may in fact still be on going in the world today. I dedicate this story to Ghana’s Takoradi girls who were mysteriously kidnapped in 2016 and dead bodies later found after years of alleged investigations. I dedicate this story in solidarity to the fight against gendered injustice and inequality.
The story is dated in the late Gold Coast era(Pre-Ghana).
