‘The Last Bookmobile on Earth’ By Roger Terry

Malcolm Dole, with nothing left to lose, drives the last bookmobile in the world, Bertie, into the dark Shytown, Indiana woods. After Bertie’s tank runs dry, Dole accepts the inevitable, that soon the cold, harsh winter outside would take his life. With what time he has left, Malcolm thinks back on his life, and tries to understand if the death of his family had been worth the price of saving literature.
