‘Summer Solstice’ By Lee Loveless

A single email with a clever two-letter subject line is the catalyst for a woman’s reckoning with the impact her abusive teacher had upon her life. A man 15 years her senior, he burned a permanent scar upon her teenage brain by turning their relationship into something it was never meant to be. The fallout negatively impacted her body, mind and spirit for years after their love affair. Memories of him have haunted her, and the longing for reconnection has never left either of them, evidenced by their frequent reunions throughout each decade of her adult life. After many years a part, he sends her a message with their secret signal, Ss. He’s reminding her of their passion for each other, and trying to woo her back. As he reaches out for her once more, can she find a way to end his influence upon her and reclaim the life that was once her own?
