‘Ships that Pass in the Night ‘ By Nimrod

Two old acquaintances meet casually at a bus stop, one of whom is a woman socialite and opportunist, and the other a more conventional man managing to make a modest living by writing articles in public relations. Their previous relationship ended unhappily and the man encountered some difficult and risky situations while it was still happening because the woman and her friends habitually live “close to the edge.” The man is torn between a hopeless desire to pursue the thrills and excitement of his earlier lifestyle (when he was sometimes exploited) and the risk of losing the more modest rewards of a conventional career and lifestyle. He has a hopeless desire to try to have both and feels anxious about this.
