‘Requiem’ By Freya Farmer

An encounter with death. The protagonist, believing that they are sleeping, dreaming, is mesmerised by their surroundings and the strange behaviour of the nature they encounter. The atmosphere grows increasingly dark and sinister, as the narrator’s body begins to fail. They realise at last, upon being greeted by a hooded figure, that they are not dreaming, but dying.
