‘Once Upon a Pink Balloon’ By Laura M. Harper

A child finds that she must grow up quickly in order to protect someone she loves from the horror of opioid addiction and the clutches of an abusive relationship, all the while trying to figure out exactly where her place and purpose in this world truly lies. This story offers a raw, emotional account of what happens behind closed doors when addiction takes its toll on not just the addict, but those who love them most in this world as well.
