‘Marbles’ By Nathan Heard

Mike, Gabe, Lucy, and Bubba play a game of marbles. They appear to be irritable children and as tensions mount they get into verbal and physical altercations.
The scene changes to a woman named Trish, who ends an extramarital affair with Alan; Alan then gets into a drunk driving accident, and the paramedic, Nancy, saves his life. Nancy walks home, and passes a teenage boy on a bridge contemplating suicide. He eventually decides not to jump and texts his friend to get help.
The narrative cuts back to the children playing marbles, and it then becomes apparent that they are actually the angels Michael and Gabriel playing against Lucifer and Beelzebub. The marbles that they fight for are in fact human souls.
