‘Ma Hubbard and her little dog’ By C. B. Lyall

Ma Hubbard’s little dog needs a magical bone three times a month, but the cupboard is bare. Gerta, the old woman who lives in the middle of the wood, is the only supplier of these bones. Ma sets off. She’s come to love Spice, the little dog, since she arrived on Ma Hubbard’s doorstep six months ago. But when Ma Hubbard arrives at the Gerta’s cottage she finds the price for more bones may be more than she’s willing pay.
