‘”Ladislao” ‘ By Ava Ryann Wolfe

In an unmapped African village lives Ladislao, a young man who has been expected to accept the traditions of his tribe, The People of the Sun, since birth. He figures he has nothing to complain about; as a man who wasn’t born a farmer, all he has to do is Sundance each morning and evening to ensure year-round sunlight and prosperity for his people. He is muscular and handsome, has an honorable role within his tribe, and everyone perceives him as lucky. Yet, everyday Lao awakes to view his life as a sort of vivid, repeating daydream and can’t help but wonder if he isn’t meant to Sundance after all.
