kintsugi is the art of using gold leaf to put broken pieces of pottery back together. it’s an art in and of itself — some people intentionally damage and shatter their pottery in order to add beautiful gold in the cracks. I am a piece of kintsugi pottery, once broken and shattered, filled with pain, but I learned to fill the cracks with my own beautiful gold leaf. this poetry is a short snippet into my journey of healing after being broken.
