This is a story about an African woman’s relationship with her traditional African father. Much like many African children, her father was absent from her life and this was a painful experience that she carried with her right into adulthood. She, who is unnamed, signifying the commonnes of her story, discusses how she lived her life angry, hateful and hurt, until she started trying to look at things from her father’s perspective, which ultimately led to her forgiving her father and finding peace for herself.
