George fights on the piers of of early 1900s Detroit to bring home extra money to feed and clothe his wife Matilda and their children. When a test of strength is held–with a hefty prize–he cannot resist the challenge. The stakes are high, and he cannot afford to lose.
This story is based on the life of my great uncle, George Riley Meadows.
