‘Abort Mission’ By Corinne Silver

Gabe is in trouble: his girlfriend is pregnant; he comes from a very conservative family; and he’s driving in pitch black darkness through the Midwestern Wilderness to take Lina to her abortion appointment. He and Lina discuss his family’s treatment of her in the past 24 hours. His family will disown him if she goes through with the abortion. If she has the child, his chances for a normal and successful life after college will come to a stark halt. Gabe dozes off and a deer cuts in front of them. They run off the road, crashing into a tree. Lina is knocked unconscious, but Gabe is awake. He makes a decision about calling the ambulance.
