‘The Lady’s Favour’ By Andrew Roberts

Rosanna Barclay hires wandering scoundrels Kestrel and Scar as bodyguards as she searches for her missing father, Captain Nathaniel Barclay. She learns that her father was a pirate who disappeared after attacking a French payroll carrier. Unfortunately, he also double-crossed Lord Pettigrew, who had originally sold him the prize.

Rosanna eludes Pettigrew’s clutches with Kestrel and Scar and they gain passage aboard a pirate vessel, the Lady Faire. After determining Captain Barclay’s whereabouts, they set out in search of him and his alleged fortune. But Pettigrew’s agents are everywhere, and he isn’t the only person with a score to settle with Captain Barclay.
