‘The Dream That Brought Mia’ by Laney Gilbert

The main character, Justin, can astral project and no one can see him when he does so except for Mia. So when they start spending time with each other, Justin learns that Mia comes from a rough home life and can see him when he astral projects because her dad was a scientist who gave her the ability to see beyond. She lives with her hateful mother who has never let her leave the house in fear of someone finding out about Mia’s abilities. Justin visits her every night and personally witnesses how her mother’s behavior upsets Mia and how depressed she is. They start sneaking out together in the middle of the night to walk around town and go on adventures before the sun comes up and Justin has to wake up for school. Their friendship grows and before they know it, they like each other and end up together.
