When a series of tragic events strike down the Royal family of Cathair, the throne is left empty. Alcina, sister to the king is crowned Queen as the next in line to the throne. The ascension is not a smooth transition, however, as the Kingsmen are replaced by soldiers loyal to the new Queen. Hot on the heels of the expulsion of those loyal to the former royal family come whispers of a Saviour, one who can restore the royal line and who no man can deny. The fires of the old wars are sparking to life and without the spirit shield of the Cathairs, the world may perish in the conflict.
