In the book, Domestic Stalker: Memoir of Survival, by Katherine O’Hara, you get the story of terror seen from the eyes of a victim of domestic violence, which continues for years, even after escaping the violence in the home. The story starts out going into how the relationship had started, where the young woman, becomes the center of one man’s obsession. The man is one who has watched, stalked, and calculated all of his moves. Leading to a one-night stand that should have never gone any further, turns into a doomed from the start relationship which takes another unexpected turn with an unplanned pregnancy after an act of date rape. Feeling torn, the girl decides to tell “him” she is pregnant, but learns that choice to tell him is one she soon regrets. Where her own personal monster uses her darkest fears, nightmares from a prior rape, against her through physical abuse and rapes over and over again, in order to get the girl to submit. She finds a way out, after several attempts, but at a price, where she loses her child to the monster in court and more. Finding love when she least expected it, and the strength to stand up to her monster. And finding that after 15 years of torture endured by herself, friends, and family, she can finally put her story on paper.
