‘The Bench’ by Carla Day

SACHA GEORGE is a twenty six year old photographer who after revealing heartfelt secret to his mother ends up in a volatile alcohol fuelled argument. After a drunken scuffle, he slips and falls from the cliff top and plunges into the depths of a ferocious and icy sea. Sacha is airlifted to the hospital where he remains in a coma.  His subconscious has created the belief that his soul is trapped inside a bench on the cliff top, a place where he used to go when he needed to think. He is torn between two worlds, the one in which his soul on an adventure, a safe place, where a realm of benches exists and a collection of whispers are tied to benches across the world. In this realm, each whisper has to unravel their life story and the reason that they died, to be able to move on to their final resting place. The other is a very real world where his subconscious is desperately fighting to wake up. His family is going through turmoil, each holding onto their very own secret which is slowly tearing them apart. His sister FELICITY GEORGE a violin virtuoso and former extrovert is struggling to come to terms with his accident and has gone off the rails, she is steadily decaying in a myriad of drugs and chaos. In which world will he wake up?
