‘Always’ By Lilia Antolov

Near the end of the Cold War, a US Marine Corporal newly assigned to a Force Recon unit, must get a young Russian woman, who is part of a defecting family, from Kiev to Odessa Ukraine to escape the Soviet Union. Unknown to the men on the mission, they have been betrayed, and after the rest of the girl’s family, and the Corporal’s unit, are killed escaping Kiev. Along the way they must fight Soviet soldiers, the elements, and time to get to their destination in time to meet a boat sent to get them to safety. Along the way they fall in love, and the young Marine must somehow found a way to balance his duty with the demands of his heart, to get the woman he falls in love with to the safety of America.
