‘Stories from the formerly homeless’ By Maria Ayala

Vision:

I want people who have been homeless or have worked directly with the homeless population what it’s like to go through homelessness and then come out the other side when they finally become housed.

Length of Stories:

2,000 words.

Personal Contribution:

I want to talk about how I became homeless and what I went through once I became homeless. I will also talk about how difficult it has been to adjust to regular life after the traumatic experience of being homeless.

Examples of what I like:

People who were homeless and got housed despite the odds. People who work every day to see all homeless people succeed.
