#SOOP on Monday: Top 20 Short Stories & Book Ideas for July 31, 2023

Here’s a new top 20 blog with tips and encouragement for your storytelling journey!

As we continue on this adventure together, with the extended qualification period for our Annual Short Story Contest until September 15, we want to revisit the advantages of our crowdsourcing model, also known as SOOP’s voting program, plus a new alternative for those who find the voting process to be challenging.

The standard approach to getting your stories qualified is simple but takes hard work, passion, and dedication. It all starts by sharing your story idea with potential fans and being enthusiastic and passionate about your concept to captivate your early supporters.

Then, leverage the initial momentum through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Wattpad to expand your reach. Share your story description and call to action, encouraging votes and spreading the word. Engage with your audience, respond to comments, and build a vibrant community around your contest participation.

Search for new audiences who will resonate with your writing by writing groups, online communities, or forums where fellow writers and readers appreciate your genre and style. Participate in forum discussions, offer insights, and share excerpts from your work. This engagement will spark interest and votes from fellow writers and people within the publishing industry.

Enhance your online presence by crafting compelling content related to your story. Write blog posts, create videos, or record podcasts exploring your story’s themes, characters, or inspiration. Share these pieces across your communication channels to encourage votes.

Stay proactive, be persistent, and share your story idea with as many people as possible! Finally, the extended qualification period grants you ample time to gather votes and explore an alternative option to get the necessary votes to qualify. Best of luck to all participants! Let’s make this Annual Short Story Contest a celebration of exceptional storytelling. You’ve got this! Keep writing and shining brightly.

Work with SOOP

Everyone at SOOP will help you work towards success.

When you submit your Book Idea, you can choose one of two ways to reach your publishing goal: Free or Premium Levels. At each stage of the voting process, SOOP’s Free Level assigns homework, which helps you not only make substantial progress in marketing your work, but also helps you develop the best story possible. SOOP manages your homework in phases and returns your homework on a pass/fail basis.

SOOP’s Premium Level also assigns homework with a required 85% passing grade, ensuring you understand the curriculum before proceeding. In addition to a higher standard for your homework, our panel of experts provides personalized feedback, arming you with more information and allowing you to adjust the course when necessary.
