Dr. Alise Cortez Helps You Navigate the Experience of Grief with “Coloring Life: How Loss Invites Us to Live More Vibrant Lives”

Something Or Other Publishing is proud to release Coloring Life: How Loss Invites Us to Live More Vibrant Lives,” a deeply personal account of the shattering event of losing a loved one that hopes to assist readers in managing some of the most challenging goodbyes a person can have.

Written by inspirational speaker, social scientist, author, and host of the “Working on Purpose” radio show, Dr. Alise Cortez, who started the project as a therapeutic effort to compile her thoughts, emotions, and ruminations after sadly losing her parents in 2019.

Applying her expertise in working with human capital and assisting companies and individuals to reach their full potential as chief purpose officer at the consulting firm “Alise Cortez and Associates,” Cortez structured her book in two equally important sections.

While the first section of “Coloring Life” is an honest and vulnerable account of Cortez’s memories throughout her time of grief, the latter portion of her book offers a summation of the lessons she learned, or as she describes it, little “whispers of wisdom” for readers to achieve better and more meaningful lives.

Despite the catalyst of the piece being the tragic passing of family members, Dr. Cortez believes the book can help multiple readers understand the many forms of loss we will experience at some point in our lives.

Loss can take the form of divorce, job loss, pet death, as well as the death of significant people. I wrote it for people struggling with the loss and how to make sense of it.

Fans eager for a closer look into her work and process can find an insightful interview published by SOOP in preparation for the release here and expect more content from the author in the future, as she is currently working on Potential Realized: An Action Guide to Self-Actualization,” a text that aims to grant the tools to readers to secure their potential.

“Coloring Life: How Loss Invites Us to Live More Vibrant Lives” is available in digital and print through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and SOOP. Join Dr. Cortez for exciting live readings of her work in Dallas, on March 22nd and Fort Worth, on March 29th, where she will do a Q&A session with audience members to work their way in a communal and loving experience.
