Sample Interview

1. Where did you come up with the subject for “His Name Was Charlie”?
I was actually trying to write it as a full length book, when I heard about SOOP, but I was having writer’s block. So, I decided to turn it into my first short story, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. I took inspiration from a series of supernatural TV shows and movies, and Stephen King books. But, I wanted my story to have a not so serious, comedy aspect, unlike most of Mr. King’s works.

2. Which movies, TV shows, and books were your biggest inspirations?
I would have to Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Vampire Diaries, 11/22/63 by Stephen King, American Horror Story, and I love true crime, so I wanted there to be a true crime aspect incorporated in there as well.

3. Do you have any other books in the works?

Yes, I have a few other works on my wattpad account. I have a trilogy that I’ve been working on since 2017, and I’m in the process of completing the third and final installment now. The names, in order, are: You & Me, Resilient, and You & I. I’m also working on a true crime based novel named All-American.

4. What’s a key takeaway from your book?
To question what’s out there. Is there heaven and hell? Is there just nothingness when we’re gone? Do ghosts even exist? To question what’s out there beyond our own plane of existence.
