SOOP asked our Dear Author Nicole Anne Collet 15 Questions, to unleash her passion for writing Romance Thriller Books.
I was born in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
I come from a multicultural family. My father was French and my mother is Chinese. They met in Shanghai and later moved to Hong Kong, the Philippines, Paris and finally São Paulo. It was the 50s, and Brazil was regarded as a promised land. My brother was born in China and my sister, in France. Before living for 12 years in the US, I studied Journalism and later Cultural Management for my Master’s degree in Brazil. I speak English, Spanish and French. I used to speak Mandarim fluently with my grandma, but quit speaking after she passed away. It was our language and I didn’t want to speak it with anyone else.
RED 2 is out on Wattpad and I am still writing!
My first plunge into fiction was my novel RED in 2013. Before that, I wrote a non-fiction book on personal marketing as a ghost writer for an international designer.
When I wrote RED.
A teenage crush on a History teacher during the 80s and a visit to the BDSM Folson Street Fair in San Francisco sometime during the year of 2000, which astounded me.
I would describe it as poetic with philosophical dabs.
Red is a fascinating color that encompasses opposites such as love and hate, pleasure and pain. It signals an invitation and also the forbidden.
There are several messages in my book, but the main is that love is a virtue based on freedom, selflessness and respect.
Definitely yes.
A thinking woman’s 50 Shades of Grey, this intriguing first novel covers familiar territory but adds plenty of new twists.
