The holidays are upon us, and it gets harder to keep writing as we spend time with family and friends. There are a few ways to keep yourself accountable during this time of year. You just need to make sure that you follow what you have been doing the rest of the year. It’s all about scheduling and keeping up with your writing. It’s understandable that most of us are going to spend time with family and friend, but you also have to focus on your writing. Writing during the holidays is the thing that stresses most writers out because they don’t think that they can juggle their holiday schedule with their writing. 

It is possible you just have to be able to schedule in time for on non-writing thing that will help you keep your regular schedule in place. There are many ways to accomplish this. You just have to make sure that you keep to your schedule. All you need to do write down the schedule and post it somewhere where you can see it anywhere you go in your writing space. Then you need to write down what you think will disturb you. Then you need to write down a non-writing activity appointment that you have to keep. The lesson is that you can manage to write even when you have a busy holiday schedule.

Another way to keep writing during the holidays is to cut down on the time that you are writing, but hold on to what you have. Don’t cut back too much because you want to be able to resume your writing schedule when the holidays are over. Make sure that you spend time with your family and friends and don’t be a bah humbug. You want to be present in the time that you have with family, but you don’t want to forget about your writing either. Make the most of your time with your family and friends and enjoy the holiday without stressing too much. 

When traveling is on your schedule make the most of it by writing while someone else drives or as you fly. You can also use writing as a way to get away from the crazy holiday madness. While the drama unfolds at the holiday parties, you can write about what they are doing or create characters from your family and friends without being too obvious. Make sure that you don’t stress over your writing because it is the holidays and you should enjoy them.

Through it all, you should remember to have fun. This time of year is meant for happiness and cheer. All you need to do is make sure that keep a schedule that will work for you and your family and friends. Writing during the holidays can be stressful as the holidays themselves, but you can always make time to write and spend time with family. Writing is supposed to be fun and something you enjoy, so enjoy it and create something amazing during this holiday season. The most important thing that you can remember is that you need to enjoy yourself and be creative while spending time with family and friends.
