By submitting the Author acknowledges having reviewed the terms below and that prior to publication a Publishing Agreement, hereafter referred to as the Agreement, with Something Or Other Publishing will be required, which will contain terms similar to the ones below.
The Author grants permission to include his/her story hereafter referred to as the Work, in an anthology to be published by Something Or Other Publishing LLC, in hardbound, paperback, and/or electronic editions–and re-printings or in other ways for a period of time, as specified in the Agreement. The Author shall retain all other rights to the Work not specified in the Agreement.
For the rights granted to Something Or Other Publishing LLC, Authors receive an equal share of from 25-50% of total Royalty on the publication, depending on Author achievement, payable each time 500 copies are sold, or such Payment Terms as specified in the Agreement.
To qualify for publication and royalties the Author will work with SOOP designated editors, proofreaders, and designers, as needed, collect votes execute the Agreement, and participate in promotional and marketing activities for the Anthology, with a requirement to generate a minimum number (typically 25-50) pre-orders of the Anthology when it becomes available for pre-order. Some Anthologies may have a higher pre-order commitment (up to 100+) depending on the subject matter, number of authors participating, and the average size of the Authors’ platforms.
The Author represents and warrants that he/she is the sole author of the Work, that the Work is original, unpublished, and that no one has reserved the rights granted in this agreement. The Author also represents, to the best of his/her knowledge, that the Work contains no matter unlawful in its content, nor does it violate the rights of any third party; that the rights granted in this contract are free and clear; and that the Author has full power to grant such rights to Something Or Other Publishing LLC.
The Author agrees to hold Something Or Other Publishing LLC harmless and indemnify it from all damages, costs, and expenses directly resulting from a finally sustained judgment relating to any legal actions incurred by the Author arising from a breach of the above warranties.
The Author grants Something Or Other Publishing LLC the right to use the Author’s name, image, likeness, and biographical material for all advertising and promotion of the Anthology.
Something Or Other Publishing LLC may also use part or all of the story on its website or in promotional materials to promote the Anthology or the Work in other formats.
The Author may be listed on Something Or Other Publishing LLC’s website with a bio, photo, and links to the author’s other works, social media, and website. The Author is responsible for providing this information to the publisher and verifying its accuracy.
For the avoidance of doubt, in the event of a conflict between these Anthology Program Terms & Conditions and the Agreement, the terms of the Agreement shall prevail.
