“A Texan Down Under” by John Dickerson

I lived in Canberra, Australia for four years. Having moved there from South Texas, it was like landing on another planet. The spoken language is English, but it is certainly a different English than American English. This story is about my experiences and observations in the time I spent down under working with the locals, making friends, learning the culture, traveling through most of the continent. It was a fascinating and educational time in my life and I relate many funny stories and puzzling encounters in daily life among the Aussies. 200-0008_IMG
