‘But she’s your mother’ by Monika Joan

An autobiography of an abused child. An honest and open account of growing up in an abusive environment and the lasting damage. Now 28, professionally successful but plagued with behaviour issues and emotional difficulties, I attempt to connect with others and purge the shame of growing up abused. Identities protected and 100% genuine. Using my ongoing therapy as reflection points, I aim to use writing in a cathartic and hope to release myself. I hope some good may come from my sincere and heartfelt account. 50% of any Profit will go to charity and I hope to dispell that just because someone is your mother, it doesn’t mean you were not deprived of the live every child craves and you can come from a “good” home. It is time.
