The Easiest Way to Get Votes: Part Four

MM

Hopefully you all have taken advantage of Part Three of this series and have experimented with Tweepi a bit and have just gained tons of great Twitter followers! If you have, you likely have realized the harsh reality of Twitter. No matter how good of people you follow, there will always be those who simply don’t want to follow you. It’s kind of like life, right? No matter how nice you are, there will always be people who just aren’t interested in being your friend, and that’s fine.

In real life, you can’t just get rid of people who don’t want to be your friend and focus on those who do exclusively, but on Twitter you can. All you have to do is unfollow people who don’t follow you back after a day or week. I’m pretty harsh and unfollow people after giving them a day to follow back, but then again I’m not really a nice person. You can be a lot nicer and wait a week if you would like. Unfollowing people is easy. All you have to do is click the follow button once you’re following someone, and it’ll allow you to unfollow him or her, but doing that two hundred times every day is terribly inconvenient and a waste of time. With that in mind, I use ManageFlitter.com.

Like with Tweepi, you can sign up for ManageFlitter.com for free, and you can use it for free. Once you’ve signed up, hover over “Manage” and click “Unfollow”. Once there, you’ll be able to filter people and unfollow those whom you deem undesirable. The great thing with ManageFlitter.com is that you can unfollow tons and tons of people and that they increase your limits big league if you do tiny things like follow them on Twitter or tweet about them, which you can delete the second its posted.

So unfollowing tons of people is super easy with ManageFlitter.com, but why do you have to unfollow people? Isn’t that mean? Shouldn’t you be nicer? Honestly, when you’re marketing, you’re not in the business of being nice. In fact, some of the folks who have the highest name recognition in the world aren’t overly nice people at all. To add to that, no one is going to go cry buckets if you unfollow him or her. You’re not Justin Beiber, and there aren’t a million teenage girls who would die if you unfollowed them. No one really cares, and you need to focus on the people who follow you, people who are interested in you and your book idea. It might seem harsh, but it’s true. Unfollow people without hesitation. You can only follow 2,000 people according to Twitter rules starting out, and you need to save those slots for people who care about you.

This week be a bit brutal.Honestly, I want to say suck it up, cupcake because it’s not brutal at all. You can do it! It’s not mean! It’s not being a hater! Unfollow people!

  1. Hey Christian, great advice and I am following it avidly, however i am running into Twitter putting a cap on the amount of follow/unfollow i can do in a day, they seem to have set a cap at around 100, any idea what this is about? Does it change in time?
