Wednesday is for Writers: Rohini Singh’s dream has come true!

It was a great honour to announce to the world on December 10th, 2014, the release of my first book, The Time Manipulator’s Son. Published by Something Or Other Publishing from Wisconsin, USA, this science fiction/fantasy novel for pre-teens to young adults introduces new and original ideas to science fiction.

the time manipulators son by rohini singhThis life-long dream finally became a reality, and adding to this high-point, the book was rated a #1 Hot Release on Amazon.com soon after its release. This announcement was blasted on social media and congratulations poured in from family, friends, well-wishers, and of course, the people who voted for me to become a winner in the “I Heart SOOP” contest.

The local bookstores in Trinidad were very supportive and my book is now being sold RIK, Ishmael M. Khan, Mohammed’s, Metropolitan Bookstores and Hallmark in Gulf City Mall. Some of the stores have opted to stack the books in the local authors section, while other grouped them in the science fiction area. The rush of emotions I felt from seeing my book in the bookstores is priceless.

The first impression I received quite often about the book is the beautiful and eye-catching cover art, (part of high quality work done by the professional graphic artist at SOOP). The arrangement of the elements, colours and font used, resulted in a very stunning work of art.

The people who read the book so far, claimed that they were intrigued by the many twists and turns in the storyline. (This of course reflects the work of the professional editors at SOOP.) The local flavour of Trinidadian and Tobagonian characters added to the originality of a science fiction novel.

Being featured on a popular morning talk show called “The Morning Brew” on Cable News Network (CNC3) in Trinidad, provided me with the opportunity to discuss the release of the book, the inspiration for writing the book and future plans for writing other books. This can be viewed at: http://www.cnc3.co.tt/newcnc3/morning-brew/morning-brew-221214. The national library of Trinidad and Tobago (NALIS) has also expressed interest in having the book available some time soon.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my supporters and the professional and dedicated staff at SOOP, for this wonderful experience. SOOP is quickly becoming well-known in the publishing industry, providing many first-time authors with the prospect to have their work published with its unique author-driven model.
